"From Self to Sympathy: Female Reform in Austen's Pride and Prejudice"
Following the lecture, we will hear beautiful music performed on the church's harpsichord. Our performer is Miss Laura Street, a 15 year old student at Westminster High School, who won the 2013 Atlanta Steinway Society Young Prodigy Award. Then we will adjourn to the Whiting Gardens for a reception.

About our speaker:
Dr. Angie O'Neal is an Assistant Professor of English at Shorter University specializing in 18th and 19th Century British literature. She teaches writing and all facets of British literature, but her favorite literary subjects are the Romantic poets. She recently presented a paper at the British Women Writers Conference on Eliza Haywood's narrative of the reformed coquette. Last July, she spoke at Young Women's Conference at Northrise University in Zambia, Africa. She has also written regularly for the InterVarsity's "The Well." Dr. O'Neal received her PhD from Arizona State University in 2007.
